Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming Itinerary featuring Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Hells Canyon & Sun Valley

Day 1: Boise, Idaho

Arrive into Boise. While in town make sure to visit some unique Boise attractions including:

•  Old Idaho State Penitentiary –

•  World Center for Birds of Prey –

Stay overnight in Boise

Day 2: Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, Idaho

Travel to Riggins, the “Whitewater Capital” on your way to Hells Canyon National Recreation Area.  Attractions along the way include:

Whitewater raft on one of the Payette Rivers or the Main Salmon River –

Overnight in Riggins –

Day 3: Lewiston, Idaho

Spend the day on a Jet boat exploring Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, Additional attractions include:

Day 4: Coeur d’Alene/Wallace, Idaho

Day 5: Kalispell/Whitefish, Montana

Travel through Twin Falls and along the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway to the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument and a

Travel to Kalispell/Whitefish and walk in the Tree Tops excursion (one of two in North America) or take a Gondola ride on Big Mountain at Whitefish Mountain Resort,, or

Overnight in Kalispell/Whitefish

Driving Time: Wallace to St Regis then north to Kalispell/Whitefish – approx. 3 hours (254 kilometers)

Day 6&7: Glacier National Park, Montana

Visit and overnight in Glacier National Park, Hiking and guide services are available in the park at: Also include a whitewater raft trip or golf excursion in the area,

Day 8: Butte, Montana

Travel to Butte, Attractions on the way include:

Day 9: West Yellowstone

Driving Time: Butte to West Yellowstone – approx. 1½ hours (241 kilometers)

Day 10: Jackson, WY

Take time to enjoy the Grand Teton Mountains while you are traveling through the Grand Teton National Park on your way to Jackson – Jackson is best known best for its stunning scenery, clear streams, world-class skiing, abundant wildlife, warm hospitality, elk antler arches, western boardwalks, and more shops and restaurants than a visitor can experience in just one trip.

Day 11: Sun Valley, ID
