UPCOMING EVENTS:


Boise will host seven large sports events the third weekend in May. They will be held at 11 local venues with an estimated 8,600 participants and 19,000 spectators. Visit Boise projects over 4,300 total room nights booked and an economic impact of $5.7 million

  • IHSAA State Baseball (6A, 3A, 2A) at Memorial Stadium, Capital HS, and College of Idaho (May 14-16)
  • IHSAA State Track & Field Championships at Mountain View HS and Middleton HS (May 15-16)
  • IHSAA State Tennis Championships at Appleton Tennis Complex, Boise Racquet and Swim Club, and Ridgevue HS (May 15-16)
  • YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon & Fun Runs (May 16)
  • Idaho Youth Soccer U18-19 State Cup at Simplot Sports Complex (May 14-17)
  • Idaho Youth Soccer Directors Cup at Simplot Sports Complex (May 15-17)
  • U.S. Paralympic Swimming Nationals, June 11-14 at Idaho Central Aquatic Center 


LOCAL TEAM NEWS:

AC Boise set a USL League 1 attendance record during the team’s first home match on April 4. A crowd of 7,211 fans showed up to cheer on Boise’s first professional soccer team.

Boise Hawks opening day is set for May 19. Visit Boise is offering a special deal this season with discounted group tickets for teams and events.

OTHER NEWS:

Boise hosted the 2026 USA Gymnastics Level 9 Western Championships April 30-May 3 at Idaho Central Arena. Over 480 athletes and families from over 20 states attended.

The University of Idaho won the 2026 Big Sky Women’s and Men’s Basketball Championships in March. The men’s team featured five Idaho high school players, four of whom were starters.

Boise-based Hard MTB League’s new mountain biking race series will crown the world’s best all-around rider.


CRANE WATCH:

Opening May 2026, the dual-branded AC Hotel by Marriott / Element by Westin will add 296 guest rooms to downtown Boise. Amenities include a rooftop restaurant, meeting/banquet space and room options for both business and leisure travelers, with larger rooms for families and groups. 

The Boise Airport celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. In 2025 the airport welcomed a record 5.2 million passengers, and work on the airport expansion is currently underway. Updates include a multi-phase concessions refresh, new consolidated rental car facility, and an additional concourse to accommodate increased travel demand. 

The Albertsons Stadium North End Zone expansion wraps up early this summer. Banana Ball World Tour will be the first event on Boise State’s new turf and the first with access to the new club lounge areas, premium seating, and North End Zone suites.
