March 1, 2022 – The Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau is preparing for the annual Recognition of Service Excellence (ROSE) Awards. The 2022 ROSE Awards celebration will be held on April 18 at the Boise Centre. The event honors employees in the service and hospitality industry who enhance visitor experiences with their enthusiasm and exemplary service.

“Spring in the Treasure Valley means celebrating milestones like patio weather, the rush of visitors for Treefort Music Festival and the chance to enjoy the many amenities Boise has to offer,” said Carrie Westergard, Executive Director of the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau. “But it’s also a season to think about the people who worked tirelessly through a pandemic to make sure Boise could hold onto the restaurants, tasting rooms, bars, events and experiences that make this city such a great place for both visitors and hosts alike.”

Tourism is one of the top economic drivers in Idaho. The travel industry generates $1.4 billion annually for southwest Idaho and more than 13,200 Boise-area jobs. The industry would not be nearly as successful without the employees in the service industry who facilitate positive experiences for visitors and locals alike.

Nominations for the ROSE Awards come from the community. Nine categories are available, in addition to the overall Spirit of Hospitality Award. Categories include Accommodations, Attractions, Bar And Tasting Room, Behind The Scenes, Dining, Retail Transportation, Volunteers And Manager Of The Year.

Once the nomination period closed March 4, the entries were reviewed and scored by a panel of tourism professionals to select finalists. Scores are based on commitment to excellent customer service, longevity, endorsement from colleagues, community service, communication skills, attitude and knowledge.

Finalists will be announced to the community on March 21, which marks the start of online public voting. All nominees will be celebrated and winners announced at the annual ROSE Awards Gala on April 18 at the Boise Centre.

And then it starts again: The BCVB opens the nomination period next year’s ROSE Awards right away so visitors and guests can nominate people for outstanding service in real time. More information and nomination forms are available here
