“We stumbled upon this place and were not disappointed. It has a fun vibe… pool table, patio, lively music. The service was slow, not gonna lie, but the waiter was awesome. Free chips and salsa, which was a smoky chipotle salsa, and so good. We tried several tacos, and the brisket was by far our favorite. We also got the street corn, but it wasn’t great… they need to switch up the recipe for that one. Tacos, chips and salsa, and drinks were so good, we didn’t care about the corn. Margaritas are amazing there… I don’t like tequila at all, and I thought the watermelon margarita was delicious. We definitely plan to go back!“

“This was a fun place, it is loud, so if you are looking for quiet, pass this by. But wow!! The food is really good! Bottomless chips & salsa, tacos are excellent!! It is a great place to party, they do have music at night. Service was good“

“If you're in Bodo and craving bold Tex-Mex flavors with a side of fun, El Tejano is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is upbeat and inviting. We visited on a Wednesday which Trivia Night, which added a fun twist to an already great evening. The food? Absolutely spot-on. The wings stole the show! perfectly crispy, just the right kick of spice, and addictively flavorful for Only $0.50!. Everything we tried hit the mark, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. A special shout-out to Patrice, our bartender, who not only kept everything running smoothly but brought plenty of charm to the table. Friendly, attentive, and easy to joke with . Whether you're there for the food, the fun, or the fine company, El Tejano delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!“

“TEX MEX!!! This is not a Mexican restaurant, this is a Tex Mex restaurant. Do not go here if you are wanting authentic Mexican food. Many reviews saying the food is not authentic were obviously confused what this restaurant actually is, it’s Tex Mex. The flavors are good. All you can eat self service chips and salsa bar. Lots of drink options and a full service bar. The happy hour margs tasted like there was no alcohol and all sugar, but some people might like that. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The pricing outweighs the food, service wasn’t the best, and drinks served were sugary with light alcohol. The location is convenient.“

“VERDICT: The best tacos in Boise, particularly the carne asada. Close the fridge and go eat them right now. FOOD: Of all the taco joints in all the Valley, I chose to walk into this one... and was blown away. The carne asada taco sports a generous helping of carne asada cooked to tender perfection. The double corn tortilla is a nice touch as they seem to be freshly pressed and have a higher moisture content than most to prevent the dry and crumbly mouthfeel I personally dislike. The potato was a serious score as well, with such a crisp crunch backing a strong flavor profile. The al pastor is an excellent take on a pork taco. The chips are of good quality. The salsa verde is excellent. It's a low tang, brightly flavored. The tater tot nachos were fun, but the tacos are far too good to spend stomach capacity on "fun." What blows my mind is that Happy Hour has these street tacos for $2 per tacos and draft beer for $4 from 3-6 PM. Taco Tuesday has the tacos for $2 all day. I ate all four tacos on the Taco Tuesday special (chicken, al pastor, carne asada, and potato) for $8. I didn't know food this good could be had at under $10 and I've sampled dozens of them. (I only post reviews on places I recommend.) SERVICE: Great. She kept our drinks full, listened to my brief newly-minted fan boy rave, and handled our tickets promptly. ATMOSPHERE: Excellent. It wasn't too loud, the TVs were all muted (maybe I'm an old man, but if it's not a sports bar, I think the TV should be muted). There are TVs on every flat, vertical surface, so if you're there for the game, the fight or HGTV (you'll probably get rightfully asked to leave), you're covered.“
