“Some of the best Hawaiian food I've had outside Hawaii. The chicken had a great smokey flavor on the outside and was tender and moist on the inside. Good chili, too, and the spicy BBQ sauce was excellent. My wife enjoyed the loaded fries. Fast, friendly service. It was a nice day, so we sat outside on the impressive patio. We biked here on the Greenbelt, but there's plenty of parking.“

“We first tried Chicken in a Barrel in Kauai. The variety of barrel smoked bbq was great and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I’m excited to report this location met all expectations. The vibe here is incredible. I felt like I was back on Hanalei minus the ocean and the wandering chickens. The staff was super friendly, plenty of seating and everything was clean. We ordered the loaded fries along with the chicken/ribs plate. Barrel smoked meats just hits different. Everything was delicious! We’d definitely come back when we’re in the area again.“

“Tried the ribs plate and was not disappointed! It came with a delicious cup of chili and a scoop of plain brown rice. Paid $1 for parking; located on the first floor of the Boardwalk apartments in Garden City. There are tables inside but you can also sit outside to enjoy your food. Highly recommend if you’re craving BBQ!“

“If you’re looking for incredible barbecue, look no further than Chicken in a Barrel. The chicken and ribs were absolutely outstanding—tender, smoky, and falling right off the bone. Every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked to perfection. The meal was served with brown rice and chili, which complemented the meat beautifully. The chili had just the right balance of spice and heartiness, making it a perfect side. Everything on the plate was delicious, and you could taste the care put into the preparation.
