Albertsons Boise Open 2022 Review

BOISE – The 33rd Albertsons Boise Open was a record-setter in terms of charity.

The tournament topped the $3 million mark this year for the first time in its history. That figure is a record for the Korn Ferry Tour at a single event, and the Albertsons Boise Open also holds the record for most money raised, topping the $30 million mark this year.

The Albertsons Boise Open is the only original Korn Ferry Tour tournament that has been played every year at the same venue with the same title sponsor.

“It’s amazing what Albertsons, Chevron, all of our sponsors, and Boise community have done for this tournament,” longtime promoter Jeff Sanders said.

Will Gordon of Davidson, North Carolina scored 8-under 63 on the final day and won in a playoff after finishing at -22 for four days.

Tournament week also included nightly concerts featuring Midland, Billy Idol, and Train. Golfing legend Johnny Miller attended Media Day prior to the event and called the commitment from the Boise community “unprecedented” on the Korn Ferry Tour, which is the stepping stone to the PGA Tour. PGA Tour stars who have played in Boise include Scottie Scheffler, Will Zalatoris, Justin Thomas and many others.
