Bogus Basin Opens For the Season
Bogus Basin, Boise’s hometown mountain recreation resort, is set to open in December! This year Bogus is using a new, state-of-the-art snow-saving technology to help jump start the 2025/26 season. The resort stockpiled snow from the previous season, covered it with insulated blankets to protect it from the summer heat, and spread the preserved snow on the slopes to form a base layer on the beginner run. This pilot program, in partnership with Snow Secure, is part of the resort’s efforts to ensure consistent early-season conditions despite variable winter weather and preserve energy by minimizing early season snow making.
While you’re on the mountain, don’t miss Bogus Basin’s conveyor-assisted tubing hill – nominated by USA Today 10 Best as a Best Place for Snow Tubing. Other winter activities include Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, and a free terrain park.
