Four friends convened in the Fall of 2021 with the idea of building an ensemble that is just as committed to exploring the vast landscape of the string quartet repertoire as it is to contributing to its chosen community. Thirdspace Quartet (formerly known as Treasure Valley String Quartet) debuted in January 2022 in Boise, Idaho. Through world-class concert experiences, distinctive collaboration, and unique educational programs, Thirdspace Quartet cultivates a community-powered chamber music scene in Boise.

In this unique program, Thirdspace Quartet will present string quartets by American composers, influenced by blues and jazz. From Gershwin and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, to living composers such as Vijay Iyer and Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), we’ll have you clapping and itching to dance.

And that’s not all! This special event is presented in collaboration with pianist, Alex Sjobeck & vocalist, Sam Tru. They will captivate you with jazz standards and originals, and we can’t wait to perform alongside them!

Our Popcycle Series includes crossovers and genre blending, from pop to folk to jazz and things in between.
