First Thursday: Join us to Celebrate the Art & Life of Zella Bardsley
You are invited to join gallery members and artists from throughout Boise in remembering Zella at a First Thursday reception at Art Source Gallery, 1516 W Grove Street, February 1, 2024, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
To honor the life, inspiration and memory of Zella Bardsley, Art Source Gallery is hosting a fundraiser for the WCA during the month of February 2024. Some of Zella’s remaining mixed-medium works will be on sale with proceeds donated to the WCA.
Bardsley was among the earliest members of Art Source Gallery, serving as president of the association three different times, and other leadership positions, over her 30 years of membership. Her artwork featured mixed media and found items that she crafted into unique designs and themes. Bardsley showed her work at Art Source Gallery, and other galleries throughout Idaho and the Pacific Northwest.
A force for good, creativity, inclusivity, and love, Zella adored her community and worked throughout her life to make Boise more supportive to artists, musicians, and educators. A special reception will be held on First Thursday, February 1 to honor her work and life. Proceeds from those sales, and additional artwork donated by Art Source Gallery members, will benefit the Women’s and Children’s Alliance in Boise.
Since 1910, the WCA has provided safe housing for women in Boise, Idaho. However, in the last 40 years, the focus has been narrowed to provide shelter and supportive services to individuals impacted by domestic violence and/or sexual assault. These services are provided at no-cost, and span a four-county service area representing 30 percent of the population of the state of Idaho.
