“Illusions” the photographic artwork of Amy McRae will be the May featured exhibit at Art Source Gallery. The show, opening May 1st on First Thursday from 5-9 PM, is the celebration of visual trickery that lets visitors see images in new and changing ways. Inspired by newly learned techniques in holographic and agamographic art, McRae creates optical illusions that let the viewer see images that change with their viewing angle and perspective. “Illusions trick us into perceiving something differently than it actually exists,” said McRae. “Illusions in artwork create a sense of depth, movement or hidden images. My hope for this show is that it will make you take a step back and say “what did I just see”.  My goal for the show is for the viewer to just have fun” The public is invited to attend the opening reception on First Thursday, May 1st, where they can meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and experience this engaging collection. The exhibition will remain on display throughout May at Art Source Gallery, located at 1516 W Grove St. in downtown Boise.
