DESCRIPTION:Pair your favorite beer or wine with your favorite book at an event that celebrates both Idaho authors and banned books!\nThe Lit Room will host “Books, Brews, Wine, & Words,” an evening of storytelling with notable local authors, at Oldspeak on April 12th, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM.\nThe event will include a reading followed by a book signing with featured writers Tomás Baiza, Clyde Moneyhun, Rebecca Evans, Hannah Rodabaugh, and Chelsea Major. \nAttendees will receive a free ticket to a Banned Book raffle. Raffle prizes are generously donated by Rediscovered Books and The Lit Room.\nThis event is free, accessible, and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available. Ages 21+.\nAuthor Bios:\nTomás Baiza is the award-winning author of Delivery: A Pocho’s Accidental Guide to College, Love, and Pizza Delivery, and A Purpose to Our Savagery. Tomás’s third book, Mexican Teeth: Stories and Assorted Artifacts of an Errant Chicanidad, was released in February, 2026.\nRebecca Evans is a Pushcart Prize-nominated essayist and poet who writes difficult, heart-full guidebooks for survivors. She is the author of Tangled by Blood, Safe Handling, and AfterBurn, a flash essay collection.\nClyde Moneyhun writes memoir and travel writing and translates contemporary European poetry, mostly from Catalan. His books of translation include Salt by Ponç Pons, Truck Driver Haikus by Dolors Miquel, The Volcano by Anna Dodas, and Witch in Mourning by Maria-Mercé Marçal (nominated for the Warwick Prize for Translation).\nHannah Rodabaugh is a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net-nominated environmental writer  who has twice served and an Artist-in-Residence for the National Park Service. She is the author of the poetry collections Lost Cathedral and The Leonids.\nChelsea Major earned a master’s degree in literature and relocated to Boise where she launched the indie bookstore The Lit Room in 2019. She is passionate about cultivating community, which she achieves through sharing global literature and poking at the through-lines of connectivity between people, organizations, and ideas.\n
