The 2024 US Open Championships for freestyle footbag is being held this summer at JUMP Boise.  The event is free for spectators to attend and will showcase the best footbag players from the United States and beyond! \n\nCompetitions will feature single and double routines, a circle contest, and a request contest.  Routines are two-minute choreographed performances designed for audience entertainment.  Routine competitors are judged on difficulty, choreography, and artistic merit like figure skating.  The circle contest features players battling in groups of four where each person is judged by an expert panel on the variety and difficulty of tricks they perform.  The top players from each circle advance to the next round(s) until the best players are in the final circle vying for the championship.  The request contest is an elimination event, somewhat like a spelling bee, where the players must execute tricks specified by the judges.  In each round the player gets a set number of tries to hit one of the trick sequences requested by the judges.  When a player is unable to perform the requested combination, they are out.  The requests become more difficult in each round, and the event proceeds until only one player has successfully performed everything requested.\n\nIn addition to competitive events, we expect a lot of “sideline” kicking just for fun.
